Trading Standards have recently received a number of reports of a suspicious male cold calling at peoples’ homes around the Inverurie area regarding reading meters and broadband issues.

We would like to remind all householders to be cautious when dealing with any unexpected caller at your front door; use your door chain or door bar if you have them and, if in any doubt, don’t permit cold callers into your home. Ask them to leave or you’ll report them to the Police. Please try to note details of the caller and any vehicles they may be using. 

Please then report any such non-urgent suspicious incidents to Police Scotland on 101 or to Trading Standards on 01467 537222 or if the matter is urgent, please call Police Scotland on 999.
