Dear Resident

We would like to make you aware that West Lothian PSYV have been out conducting speed checks this week in Whitburn, Blackburn, Seafield, Longridge, Bathgate, Armadale and Blackridge at or near to our schools alongside local Community officers.

Whilst the vast majority of drivers were found to be obeying the speed limits a number of drivers were stopped in relation to their speed and the risks of driving too quickly near to our schools were highlighted to these drivers by our youth volunteers. The drivers were also asked to complete a short survey. 

Road safety is one of your local policing priorities and this week has been about educating drivers about their speed particularly around our schools. 

Further road safety activities are planned across the county which will include enforcement days by local Community officers and Roads Policing officers therefore please be mindful of the speed limits across the county.
