Public Notice: Circulation of Counterfeit Banknotes

It has come to our attention that counterfeit banknotes have recently been circulated within the local area. Members of the public and business owners are advised to exercise increased vigilance when handling cash transactions.

How to Verify Banknotes:

Examine the texture – Genuine banknotes have a distinct feel and raised print.

Hold the note up to the light – Check for the watermark and embedded security thread.

Tilt the note – Authentic notes often display color-shifting ink or holographic features.

Compare with a genuine note – Look for any inconsistencies in size, color, or print quality.

If You Suspect a Counterfeit Note:

Do not return the note to the person who provided it.

Record relevant details such as the date, time, and description of the individual.

Retain the note carefully (preferably in an envelope) to avoid contamination.

Report the incident immediately to your nearest police station or relevant financial authority.
