Dundee day of action tackling retail crime |

Multiple arrests have been made as part of a day of action across Dundee tackling retail crime.
On Wednesday, 1 April, 2026, officers from Dundee’s Retail Crime Task Force and city centre officers, worked with partners at Retailers Against Crime and local businesses to target individuals associated with retail crime.
Three women, aged 34, 38 and 43 were arrested for over 30 retail offences, which includes theft by shoplifting, assaulting a retail worker and threatening a retail worker.
The incidents took place at various stores within the city and included the theft of food items, health and beauty items, and clothing.
The women have been charged are expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday, 2 April, 2026.
Five others were charged in connection with shoplifting offences and a man was arrested on an outstanding warrant, which related to a retail offence.
Four positive stop and searches were carried out, and a significant amount of stolen property was seized.
Detective Sergeant David Feeney said: “Tackling shoplifting and other forms of retail crime is a priority in our communities, and local officers will continue to work alongside the Retail Crime Taskforce, and other partners, to identify offenders and bring them to justice.”
