🐾 Happy National Dog Day 🐾 |

Dear Resident,
Celebrating our wonderful four-legged friends and remembering those still waiting for a forever home.
National Dog Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the incredible companionship, love and happiness our dogs bring into our lives. 🐶
For those of us who are dog lovers, it’s hard to imagine life without our four-legged friends. They’re our walking companions, our cuddle buddies, our loyal listeners and, very often, our little shadows. And let’s not forget their remarkable ability to let us know when they think a treat is overdue.
So, why not make today a little extra special for your best friend?
🐾 Some ways to celebrate together ❤️ Explore somewhere new – try a different walking route and let your dog enjoy a proper sniffari. 🎾 Have some playtime – get out their favourite toy and enjoy a game of fetch, tug or whatever makes their tail wag. 🦴 Treat them – give them a special dog-friendly treat and make them feel extra loved. 📸 Capture the moment – take some photos of your day together and create memories you will treasure. 🥰 Enjoy some extra cuddles – because sometimes that’s exactly what our dogs want most.
🏡 Remembering the dogs still waiting While we celebrate the dogs lucky enough to have loving homes, National Dog Day is also a wonderful opportunity to remember the many dogs who are still waiting for their forever families. One organisation particularly close to the heart of one of our team is Dogs Trust, because of their personal volunteering experience. They have volunteered with Dogs Trust for several years, helping to keep the dogs’ “suites” — aka kennels! — clean, comfortable and cosy. One of the most rewarding parts of volunteering is getting to spend time with the wonderful dogs themselves. The dedicated staff and volunteers do an incredible job caring for the dogs and helping them on their journey towards finding loving homes. There are also ways to help without bringing another dog into your home. Sponsoring a dog can help support dogs in Dogs Trust’s care, while fostering can give a dog the opportunity to experience life in a loving home while they wait for their forever family. Although Dogs Trust has been mentioned because of this personal volunteering connection, there are many other fantastic dog rescue and rehoming organisations across Scotland and the UK doing equally important work. Whether you choose to adopt, foster, sponsor, donate or volunteer, your support can help make a real difference to dogs who are waiting for their forever homes.
🐶 Celebrate your best friend today National Dog Day is a chance to pause and appreciate just how much our dogs mean to us. Take them somewhere fun. Give them their favourite treat. Enjoy a walk, a game or simply a quiet cuddle on the sofa. And while we’re celebrating our own wonderful companions, let’s remember those still waiting for someone to give them a place to call home.🏡🐾
Happy National Dog Day to every dog, everywhere and to all the wonderful people who love them!
Best wishes, The Neighbourhood Watch Scotland Team | ||
